WHO ARE WE
Mizzwerk is a basketball training company built on one belief: it ain't work unless it's Mizzwerk. Founded by Michael "Mizzwerk" Sanders in Waterbury, Connecticut, we provide athletes of all levels with the coaching, structure, and accountability they need to sharpen their game — ball handling, shooting, footwork, and speed & agility — while building the discipline that carries far beyond the court.
OUR PURPOSE
Preparation is your separation. Our mission is to give every athlete who walks through our doors the tools to outwork the competition — not just physically, but mentally. We believe real development comes from repetition, honesty, and a willingness to put in the work when no one's watching. Through our clinics, training sessions, and foundation, we're committed to shaping stronger players and stronger people, one rep at a time.

VALUE
Everything we do is rooted in creating real value — for the athlete's game, their mindset, and their future. We're not interested in empty reps or surface-level training. Every session is designed to add something meaningful: a sharper skill, a stronger habit, a better understanding of what it takes to compete at a high level.
CHARACTER
Character is the foundation of everything we build at Mizzwerk. It's not about how a player performs when the lights are on — it's about who they are when no one's watching. We push athletes to develop integrity, humility, and self-discipline, knowing that the habits formed in the gym shape the person they become everywhere else.
LOYALTY
Loyalty means showing up — for your teammates, your coaches, and yourself — even when it's hard. We build a culture where athletes commit to the process and to each other, understanding that real growth happens when you stay the course instead of chasing shortcuts. At Mizzwerk, loyalty is earned through consistency, not convenience.
RESPECT
Respect starts with how we treat the game, our coaches, our teammates, and ourselves. It means listening before speaking, putting in work before demanding results, and carrying yourself with class whether you're winning or losing. Coaches and players alike hold each other to this standard, on and off the court.
MICHAEL SANDERS
Founder & CEO
Michael "Mizzwerk" Sanders grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut, where he taught himself the game from age five and went on to become a high school League MVP with over 1,500 career points. He played college basketball at Iona College and Shaw University before turning pro overseas, spending nearly a decade competing at the highest levels in Portugal, Kosovo, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, China, and Puerto Rico — along the way earning MVP honors and leading multiple leagues in scoring. In 2010, he returned home to Waterbury and founded what began as Seque Training, running camps for high school athletes before evolving into a more personalized, high-level training experience. That evolution became Mizzwerk — both a company and a philosophy built on hard work and dedication to achieving your goals.
